Hello out there in butnut land. I recently removed the interior flooring in my MC-9 and removed all of the old (and wet) fiberglass insulation back by the engine compartment. Obviously I want to reinsulate these area and I am considering filling these voids with spray foam before I install the new plywood floor. Any words of wisdom/suggestion/warning from those of you who have already been down this road? Is there a different(better) product to use instead?

Thanks in advance!!

I used two different kits so far in my conversion and there is a difference! I too have an MCI 9 that I took the floor up. There are spots over the trans and on each side in the back that you can take up the old sheet metal, and put in new to gain another 2 inches of foam. Some spots in the floor have up to 6" of foam and it is sooooo much quieter. The first kit I used from Mcmaster Carr(they have a web site)it was called a Froth-pack. Two part spray polyurathane foam and it worked great!!! Have everything ready and spray away. Low odor (still where all the protective stuff) nice gun and went on and expanded to max in about a minute and could cut right away. Use thin layers and avoid piling up. Also since you putting on so much ( up to 6" in some places) it is not neccessary that you get it all the way to floor level. Make sure all surfaces are covered. The next kit I used was some off brand my brotheer found and said was the same thing, IT WASN'T!!! Looks the same , comes in the same looking tanks , much cheaper gun, smelled terrible, took 3-4 minutes to get to max thickness and was soft (unable to cut) for about a half an hour. My advise would be to use the brand name stuff made by Dow Chemical "Froth-pack" and bite the bullet on the cost it is well worth it. about $700 shipped the other crap was $440 but complete garbage. Now that it is dry it lookes the same but not the same experience at all.
