I have a problem with my 1966 Eagle-01. The air compressor is passing oil thru to the first wet tank, and the bleeder valve dumps the oil-water mix on the ground. I don't think this coach came equipped with an air dryer, at least I haven't found one. Let me try to explain what I have. The compressor is located at the back of the engine block, over the transmission.[Directly under the axcess cover, under the bed] Its direct drive/ two cylinders. It has a large intake hose from the fresh air box. The exaust[pressure] line goes to a long inverted cone shaped thing that has a bleeder valve on the bottom. Jack Conrad called this a "ping" tank.It probably hasen't been blead for many years as its coated with a thick deposit of grease and crud,[So is everything in the same area] Its mounted on the panel that divides the drivers tag tire and the radiator, toward the center of the bus. Its not easy to reach. I never knew it was there until two days ago. This thing looks like the water trap thats on my shop compressor. I'm sure it must be full of oil and water. Thats probably why the oil is going to the first wet tank.There is a gizmo on the side of the compressor head thats about the size and shape of a soup can. Could this be the govenor?? There are two other lines going to the head of the compressor, about 1/2 inch outside diam. Could these be oil lines, or cooling lines? Are these compressors water cooled??I'm dealing with something here that wouldn't be a problem if I had a chiltons or other manual to show the exploded parts diagram, and the proper procedure to follow to remove and replace. I'm fumbeling in the dark here. Is there any owner of an old Eagle, or mechanic that works on these old birds that would be willing to talk me through this.I would be willing to pay for copies of a workshop page or pages that cover this arera.PLEASE help befor I screw something up beyond all repair.
Thanks in advance;

Doug
I just changed mine out.
First drain the radiator,remove the govener and
the air lines,there oil lines remove them, then
remove the bolts on the compressor flange and remove the compressor.
to install reverse the steps and refill the radiator.
the soup can on the side of the compressor is an air filter, it should be replaced every so offten.
you will reuse the filter housing and the govener should be replaced at this time, cause alot of gunk is most likely inside it.
You can get a rebuilt compressor at any big truck parts house, it is a simple repair.
To make it easier to get to remove the tag tire on the right side (Pass) then you will have lots of room.
