-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I finally got to take my shake drove cruise on my 4106 and now I'm in trouble. Fist the small problem. How do you turn the heat off for the defrosters? The big problem when the bus warns up after driving a while I can't shift gears. I don't mean grinding, I can't get out of second.(Spicer 4 speed 8V71) I know this is poor planing but we are leaving tomorrow and I am looking for some quick advise. HELP |

Hey Kevin, there should be 2 gate valves back in the engine room drivers side by the bulkhead. Shut them off and that should take care of the heat. Do you have a stuck linkage issue? (i hope) or do you think its clutch related? after she is blocked good, pull the linkage cotterpins and after removing the clevis' see if the shift linkage moves as it should. With a helper you can try moving the linkage on the trans with engine NOT running as helper holds in the clutch. This may tell you something might be hard to move anything on the trans with out the engine running. My old clark trans used to get jammed once in awhile and i could "help it" with a rubber mallet. Good Luck and let us know. dave |

Kevin, there is a valve located in the center of the dash, down near the floor that should shut off the flow to the defroster. There is a handle above the throttle pedal that is supposed to operate it. If you remove the center dash panel, you should be able to see the valve. Whether it still works is another matter. Good luck with your repairs. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher Ketchikan, Alaska |

f you remove the center dash panel, you should be able to see the valve. Whether it still works is another matter. Although if it doesnt work its only $15 if that. A great valve (push pull) for other uses in the camper. FF |
