Anyone in the MD/DC/Va metro area that could help me fix my ole girls power steering? I have a MCI-7 and was off to PA to give her some new rubber and lost my power steering. After returning to the yard there was a puddle of fluid which came from under the front to the drivers side of the spare tire hatch. If someone is in the area to help me I also have a couple of air bags to replace and a brake chamber leak. Unfortunately the shop was sold due to the economy so I no longer have a pit available and cannot afford the 95.00 Hour labor rates in the area.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide and for all those that have taken the time to read my thread.

the power steering leak is probably a hose. Take the hose to any parts store that makes hydraulic hoses. They can quickly makee you a new hose. When this happened on our MC-8, we went ahead and replaced all the hoses while we were in there. Jack

Same thing happened to me on the road. So I waved down a farmer on his tractor and he directed me to a NAPA store where they made me a new hose in 30 minutes for $50. The down side was 105 degrees and got under the bus directly below the HOT engine to remove and replace hose.

Good luck.

CK, not really in your nieghborhood, but there is a great mobile mechanic in Raliegh Durham who has access to a shop if you are ever heading south on 85. Might be worth while for the airbags. Robert Moore, lead mechanic for Dean's Coach 30 years. 919 three08 012five. Knows buses.

David- Thanks alot for that bit of information. I travel that route most anytome and unfortunately went right through there 3 weeks ago with "Big Mac". Thats how the ball bounces but I will be sure to add him in my contacts book in the coach.

Actually have found two small diameter lines hanging loose, a steel 1/4 line above the pump and to the center of the bus, and another 1/2 diameter hose hanging down behind the pump connected to some sort of block beside the top of the pump.

Trouble is mine eyes dont focus to good in close quarters anymore.

JD- Im sorry Im not out that way too as I need any and all hands I can find. How about I pay you 200.00 a month to rent my spare bedroom with house privilages...lol Thanks for kind word and when I get this bird flying I will be heading your way for awhile so I will keep your number handy.

I guess Im going to have to delay a few things as it looks like Im going to have to fork out 50 an hour for a mobile mechanic so Its going to be much slower to finish up. Will just have another project on wheels for a year or two. DO campgrounds still give you a tent site if your in a steel tent?

Kade
