desperately looking for a good used radiator for our coach which is a Prevost H3-40 8v92 auto. The radiator is 39 inches between the tanks per Prevost. Anyone know a salvage yard that MIGHT have a good one?

Thanks...

Joe all I know at this time is that it's 39 inches wide without the tanks, about 36 inches tall and about 5 inches thick. As for rows, not sure on that. The Prevost part number is 550-609 and they want a whopping $3411.10. Now you see why I am looking for a good used one! Mine is total toast!

you could probably get a replacement core from Detroit Radiator or one of the other major radiator companies for a LOT less, however not on such a short notice.

I found a local radiator shop that mostly does heavy duty radiators. They had the right core on the shelf. I would check to see if you have a similiar shop locally.

Ace

It looks that the radiator for the 6v92 is 3 inches narrower 36 inches wide and might work in a pinch. I have a new one, no it is not for sale!!!! Keep looking in your neck of the woods, there should be something there.

Try

I have not bought anything from them, but my friends that have were pleased with the parts & price.

Do not go with less than you have because you are in a hurry. Most of those big radiator manufacturers that sell to the public, will take calls and if you supply them the CORE dimensions, header dimensions and hole size and number of holes and number of tubes and fin density, they can supply you what you need. They can also make cores with more or different tube/fin setup for better cooling in problem situations. These can be direct shipped.

Way to go!! It's nice when the "parts stars" align. $3400 is way out there.
