Hi Folks, You'll notice a new link from our main BNO BBS title page which will take you to our new bulletin board that we have called "eBay on BNO". Due to feedback directly attributable to this bbs, we decided to start a bulletin board where interested viewers can catch up on some of the stuff that eBay has to offer and to enable an interactive dialogue on all things eBay related. As well, this new area can be used to advise viewers of sales of your own items that you also have for sale on eBay - even stuff not necessarily related to buses or our hobby - kind of a supplementary resource to WoBN's The Flea Market, here on our web site. But, like anywhere else within the interactive areas of BNO, we kindly ask that you not attempt to sell your whole bus in this new section - instead, purchase an ad and run it on BNO for $50. - still the least expensive ad on the Internet! I would like to thank the dozens of viewers who gave their input on this project over the last month or two while the new bbs was being developed - and especially the silent majority of our viewers who suggested that this bulletin board be separate from our main board, so that regular viewers don't have eBay in their face in every message. So, go ahead and enjoy the new section of BNO! There are a couple of new rules that you should read before using the new "eBay on BNO" bulletin board and they are all included on the launch page. There is also a link back to this bbs, just in case you get lost in cyberspace! Have fun with the new bbs!! Enjoy :-) Regards, Ian Giffin www.bunut.com |

Hi Ian, Thanks for providing additional services to the busnut community! This seems like it will be a very useful feature. I wanted to add my first little bit of feedback. The "eBay on BNO" BBS didn't work exactly the way I expected. Hmmm... what exactly do I mean? First off, I start out directly with the URL "http://www.busnut.com/bbs/". I immediately click on the "Last Day" link under "Discussion" to see what's new, and I get the updates for "The Board", "Fleamarket", and "Places We Stay". So I guess those are subsections under the main BBS, right? Apparently "eBay on BNO" is a separate BBS? Anyway, it doesn't show up in that same list, and seems to have it's own separate menu ("Discussion", "Documentation", etc. features). So... I guess what I mean is that I had expected the eBay section to be more like "The Board", "Fleamarket", etc. sections, than something separate. Does it matter? Not really -- just a few extra mouse clicks, and developing the habit to look there. But if it were all the same to you, it would seem more convenient to organize "eBay on BNO" as a subsection, just like "The Board" and the others. Whew, sorry for the long-winded description. I learned a long time ago (in a software testing capacity) that you better be very explicit when describing what you like/dislike about a human interface! Cheers, John Editor's Note: John, while I agree that it would have been significantly more convenient to add another topic to the BNO BBS, it was the overwhelming opinion of the silent majority - I have dozens and dozens of e-mails about this topic, most from people you have never seen write a word on this bbs - that they want nothing to do with eBay. It was easier for me to facilitate a new bulletin board and for you to add a few mouse clicks than to facilitate a mass exodus from this web site. |

Ian, Thanks for all the hard work setting up this new Ebay feature. However, it would be greatly appreciated if the auto emailing system was able to be applied to this feature as well. Do please consider adding this very useful feature. Thanks. Peter. |

Ian, I share John's disappointment I guess, could we not have it as part of the FleaMarket section? Regardless, thanks for the good work. |

OK Ian, now one more time let me get this straight. As I type this, a fellow member has one heck of a deal on a great 1 inch impact on EBay. As I understand the rules, I cannot bring this to the attention of the people that might need it, they must go to the EBay board and look for it? Seems to NOT be a service to us, and I guess I fail to really understand the reason behind that. (or am I just reading something into the rules?) |

Hi Don, The reason the eBay board is somewhere else is to give you the opportunity to bookmark that page or simply flip between the two bulletin boards with the provided links (works just like the links to everywhere else on this web site). That's basically what surfing the 'net is, except you never have to leave BNO, you never get nailed with a cookie from eBay and those who don't want eBay in their face every sentence - and they are the majority of BNO viewers - never have to go to that resource. Let's face it, you have to click your mouse once or twice to see, say, the bus ads or the Articles of Interest. There's no difference here. Just because there are two bulletin boards, doesn't mean they have to appear on the same page. Have you told the NFL that they should carry all their games on one channel? And besides, on the scale of the most difficult tasks in the word to do, clicking a mouse is right down there with twisting a cap off a wobbly pop. Except, with a mouse, you never have to get the wife to come over to your chair to pick the tops off the floor. Enjoy :-) Ian www.busnut.com |

OK, I am properly chastised now. Like most of us old dogs, we have a helluva time learning new tricks I guess. I agree I am strange, and would prefer NFL were (was) prohibited from carrying ANY game on TV, and even get a kick out of buying or selling used or auction items to do a bus. In the old days, that is the way it was done. Now I will shut up about it, go along with the modern crowd, and try to get this "mouse clicking" down pat. Ya still got the best bus board around!! |

Ian, Is there any possibility of auto email being implemented to the Ebay section? Peter. |
