i'm finally having the rack set, but am i wasting my time doing it with the wrong injector installed . i changed from a 2 to a 4 valve head leaving in the 7A75 injectors and jakes that came installed on the donor head. also i need to put oil in to start this up after a crank change , does it matter if i use a cheap multi just for this startup. i mean to change this before the engine package even goes back in the "04" thanks in advance , dounan |

Considering the costs of working on a diesel engine, do you think it is prudent to cut corners on oil? |

i'm just talking 1/2 - 1 hour adjusting period, then change out and put in proper oil |

THE "Adjusting" will probably be done at or near idle. Not enough temp for the flour reaction to thicken the multi weight oil , so you would have rather low oil pressure with DD's notoriously low ideling pressure pushing 10wt oil. This could cost way more than 8 gal of DD 40wt. FAST FRED |

Valve adjustment is like any old car , injectir timing is fairly easy. BUT ,,IF your running the rack , take plenty of time & try as hard as you can for "Perfection". This is one place NOT to be in a rush , have an old DD fellow show you the tricks. IT all has to operate TOGETHER! FAST FRED |
