I have a new to me (6 months old) radiator on the truck coming south to me and should be here in a couple of days. Mine is not leaking but it's in sad shape visually! Anyway, I took the time today to start the installation of a mister and the trials show that it will work really well. It's all plumbed and only thing left to do is run 12v wires to the drivers area with a toggle switch. The actual mister is an easy on and off application at the radiator so when it comes time to remove the old and install the new, it will be a snap! The mister I found about 4 years ago and never installed it. It cost me 5 bucks at a wal-mart discount isle and was made to go around a patio umbrella. It is plumbed using an isolated shur-flo water pump and glad that it works good! I know it's more or less a band-aid but none the less, down here a band aid is sometimes needed when it's hot out.

I have a mister also and was playing with the idea of using the 190 deg. warning sending unit to turn it on. Any thoughts?...Cable

Cable
It would run constant at 190 degrees when the switch closes. You will only need it once in awhile when you see the temp rising. You would also need too big a water tank. I only need ours for a few seconds when it is needed then the temp drops to an acceptable level.

why don't someone come up with a cooler thats made like a moonshine still and run the coolant water thru it, cool it down thru the coils and problem would be solved with misters, extra fans and all the acc. We all have generators big enough to handle the load.. Just thinking out loud.
