Anyone know the weight of a 6-71 complete, compressor and all assesories? Can I haul it in a PU-truck, saftly? |

Probably OK in a heavy-half, definitely should be fine in a full-size 3/4-ton or better. I doubt it's over 1800lbs, & any HD can tote that easily. |

I would say it's about 2,000 lbs. An 8V-71 is around 2400 lbs. |

You should be able to haul it just fine with a 3/4 ton pickup, but it will be a little much for most 1/2 ton pickups. A 1/2 ton pickup will spend most of its time with the suspension down on its stops. That will be a very uncomfortable ride, and can easily break the axle or frame of the truck. Don't just toss it in the bed and think it will be ok, though. It will crush the corregations flat on your bed. Also, if you have a blow out, or have to make a quick maneuver, you don't want that beast moving! Be safe, treat your truck nicely, palletize the engine, and rope it down. -Chuck |

An 8V71, sans accessories, scales at 2435lbs. ...JJ |
