Well after finding a replacement radiator from a parts bus and having it shipped to me from out west, it came in the day I left for the holiday weekend. I will get a chance to inspect it tomorrow and make plans on installing it before our next outing.
I would also like to say the bus ran GREAT and my newly installed mister wasn't needed as the temps stayed hovering around 177 when it rained to 190 when it was hot and the pedal down. I DID try the mister when it got to 190 and it dropped to the low 180's in about a minute. I know it works and I will still have it after I install the replacement.
There were 6 coaches that showed up for the weekend get together and it looks like next time even more. A fun filled weekend with plenty to eat, (although I AM on a diet) and sharing opinions on just about everything from people to buses to food to quick fixes etc. etc. The worst thing about this trip was leaving for home and the best thing was looking forward to next time out!
I sure love my bus and my bussin friends~! :-)

If the old radiator is being replaced because of a cooling problem , not a damage and leaking problem, you might want to contemplate cleaning the entire cooling system.

The usual method is one of the commercial 2 part cleaners , and flush flush flush.

If you only travel locally 1/3 DIESEL antifreez and 2/3 distilled water will help the cooling better than the 50/50 usually done .

The Diesel antifreez will have SCA , which can build up too thick and slow the heat transfer inside the DD.Overheating results , even with 3 radiators.

FF the radiator is being replaced not due to a cooling problem or leaks but more so due to radiator ROT. The fins are literally falling off and the framing around it is almost completely gone from rust. The tubes and tanks are fine and would probably make for a good re-core and had really considered that route, I was able to find a 6 month old oem that was replaced in a bus that eventually rolled over. The price compared to a re-core OR a brand new one was too good to pass up so I jumped all over it. I now have a good source for good used parts for MY coach that is until they are are gone! I will be replacing all the hoses and servicing the fan drive while the radiator is out and changing the anti-freeze with new rather than using the old!
Thanks...

Hey, Ace -- since none of us are running new buses with warranties, it makes me feel good to hear that somebody has found a quick, (relatively) easy and (relatively) cheap way to solve a parts problem. Congrats on getting the new radiator and getting the good info on the mister.

Bruce it might be a little easier for those that have older buses to find the replacement parts they might need over my particular coach. Not many self converted H model buses around and those that are pro converted million dollar buses are usually sold to people that can afford to pay full retail from Prevost! That ISN'T me! I have looked for GOOD deals from day one and still to this and maybe even more so since I am not working near as much now as when I started the project. I just couldn't see paying 3500 bucks for a radiator when I knew with all the H model buses in existence, there had to be at least one good one for sale and I lucked up and found a converted bus that was recently rolled over but still running. The owner decided to part it out which was to my advantage. The other problem I found is that most H models have the 60 series and uses a different radiator than mine with the 92 series. Like I said, I lucked out and will definitely keep this roll over in mind IF and when I need something else in the near future!

Good luck usually results from good work. Glad it worked out OK for you! (I think I'm going to find it harder than most, but I'm hoping for good luck, too.)
