G'Day All,

Can someone point me in the right direction to a link for electric internal sunvisors, the holland blind type for windscreens. I had a link but seem to have lost it as usual.

Thank you for the information Luvrbus, I found CareFree and PowerSmart alright but not MCI is this an abbreviation. Heard this term MCI but I thought it related to a brand of bus. I am in Australia and not all that familiar with the US brands.

Don't know about the MCI versions, but those Carefree power and smart visors are the best thing since sliced bread. (whole wheat)Great for driving into sun, even late in the day. Just keep lowering enough to block out the sun. Side manual type is great also; same idea. I had them on the 4104 and saved them to use in my 4905. Bought matching passenger side units at last years FMCA convention from a vendor that was discounting them. AFIK, they are only available in 12 volt. I can deal with that with my system. I would never have another coach without them.

MCI is for Motor Coach Industries, a bus manufacturer.

Welcome!

Paul, thank you for the information it is appreciated.

John, likewise thank you. They certainly sound like a good idea for my bit as its a long way to reach up to get to the current blinds without undoing seat belts and stopping. Just one question though if you don't mind, how do you stop them flapping around when in down position or are they stiff enough no to do so.

the power visors have a metal zigzag brace on windshield side that works like those old expanding gates to keep kids away from stairways.Unless you have a lot of slope to windshields, it will work fine and keeps visor from flapping in a breeze. The side ones I use work like a window blind;just pull down to desired level and pull cord to raise. Hold on to visor when you do though or it'll snap up. Check the Carefree of Colorado web site under power visors to see what they offer.

Do the shades have vertical rods for the bottom of the shade to follow up and down? Cannot tell from the pictures.

The one I have, has a scissors like bracket on the back side that extends down to the bottom edge of the shade. You simply turn a knob on the bottom of the shade to tighten or loosen the scissors bracket to hold it in possition or move it up or down. It does not flap around as a result of the bracket.

The shade I have is manual not electric. It has a scissors like bracket on the back that keeps the shade tight. It has a knob on the shade that you tighten to lock the shade in any possition you want that can be reached while sitting in the drivers seat.

Is this for driving or when parked ?

Maybe not what you are looking for but may want to consider, a Rosen Sunvisor System. These are used in aircraft (everything from Beech to Boeing).
their web site is not much help but perhaps you can find a vendor at an aircraft supply...pilots can't see flying into the sun, they make a GREAT product.I love mine. The Protector Series is the one I use...see here...

G'Day Donald,

Thanks for helping out here, sorry for the late reply to your post. The visors I need are for driving more so than parked. I'll check out your idea though.

Did find a distributor here in Australia, but not interested in supplying the public, plus their prices were on the steep side and not really what I had in mind.

Dirk
