Yep when I look at a car ad I go no further if there is no price in the ad. It makes me think they want me to call so they can try and work you to get it even higher than what it is worth eh. It's like bidding work. They ask you for a price right after showing you the plans or property with no time to look at the details. I always tell them I will look it over and shoot you a price. If you sell anything you need to do your due diligence and homework first and know your market and when you are ready to advertise your product put the price in it and it will sell to the right person it will just waste your time with people calling that either can't afford or will try to knock you down off guard. It is not my bus I do not want to try to get in the middle of the transaction and run the price up. A guy asked me to try to help him sell it and that is what I am doing. If you are interested call the owner that is where the price is. If you have some preconcieved notion that anything listed without a price is too high or not worth it you are making an assumption and IMO a mistake if you are looking. The guy who owns it is a BMW dealer I assume he has sold a few things. My suggestion was he needed to about give it away in this market to sell it.......he agreeded. I also have 2 Heart EMS 2800w 24volt inverters sitting in my garage along with a slew of suspension items and other mis. bus components. (Message edited by Joe Camper on September 20, 2010) |

I also will never respond to an ad with no price nor will I ever make an offer when someone asks, "what will you give me for it?" If you respond to that one you will probably offer too much or insult the seller!! |

An ad is designed to get you to call. When you call, the seller can discuss the item and what it has or has been done to it which is usually more than what can be put in the small (expensive) ad. If you won't call and ask the price or make an offer, you don't want the item very bad & probably wouldn't buy it anyway. Sometimes a price is not listed because the seller doesn't want local folks to know his business. All that said, I too assume that if the price isn't given, it's probably on the upper side of the range. |
