I had heard before about some RV parks implementing age restrictions and not accepting anything older than some arbitrary date, but had not ever encountered such restrictions. The consensis seemed to be that these practices were limited to "resort" like parks. Well we are full timing in Loveland Colorado, and our trailerhood now has a "nothing older than 1995" policy. This place is no resort, and we are grandfathered in. But if we wanted to come here today it would not be possible. Hopefully this won't become an epidemic.

We have seen this kind of policy a few times. A nice county park in Floriday has such a policy. We have found that generally these policies are to keep out the junk and ancient school bus kind of stuff. At the Florida place, we called the campground manager & e-mailed him pics of our 4104. He said we were fine. We have never encountered a refusal when traveling. Lots of times they know the bus is an antique and think it's cool. But a damaged or primered, etc RV would not be treated the same. We also shy away from "RV Resorts" as they tend to be spendy anyway.

My wife and I manage a campground in East Central Texas, pretty much what you would term "BFE".
We are in no way a 'resort', as a matter of fact, my boss and I just got done putting in new power pedestals fir about 2/3's of the spaces, so they have 50/30/20 hookups. We still have 10 more to do, but those will wait until early winter when it's cooler.
Anyway, to digress back to the subject...
We have a 10 year limit on travel trailers and motor homes, mainly because they are so poorly built that after 10 years, they are prone to leaks, electrical shorts, pieces falling off underneath, poor propane connections, broken or poorly fixed dump tanks and lines, etc.
Believe me, it's no fun to go out at 0'dark 30 and spread lime because some idjit had a black tank crack, or to go find out that the camper owner has been trying to draw 50 amps off a 30 amp line and bypassed the breakers, "because they keep tripping!"
We don't always enforce this rule, but instead use it as a guideline to give us a chance to look at the prospective renter and make a decision based on demeanor of the person, condition of the camper or motorhome, condition of the rig towing, etc.
Usually, we don't have a problem with buses... hey, we even let my bus in! We have even let in a few buses that weren't converted yet or just in the early stages that stayed for months while work was being done.
We don't mind if the campers even want to set up a table saw outside to do work on their units, as long as they clean up after themselves.

Nice to know Dallas. Our bus looks pretty good....I'd call her a thirty footer. I an not quite ready to paint her, although it will be time sooner rather than later.

Believe me, a lot depends on the outward appearance of your bus and he atitude you convey to the Manager of the Park. Our MC5A is 42 years old and we try to keep her in the best appearance we can afford. I guess I'm saying that we don't look like the Clampitts when we travel (inside joke). hehehe

Our RV park here in western NC accepts us on an a
seasonal basis and we're convinced it's not the condition of your bus it's the character of the people who live in it.

I've never been refused a spot...but then I'm one helluva good guy. Just ask Dallas!

Power on Brother!

Now Dallas, you promised me you wouldn't talk about us that way! If we had not been on the wild dash home in Feb, we would have gotten to see you guys, but I didn't know about that 10 yr rule......man, I will NEVER be able to afford a bus that young & childish, and I just couldn't trust one with that little experience!

Besides, even a Converted coach is never finished, so it's always under 10 years old! Lol.
