A little off subject, but here goes. I want to attend the Good guys meet at the Pocono Racetrack. I am bringing a car hooked up to my bus. 75' total length. I can unhook the trailer and leave it at the track. I will not drive the car more than a couple of miles (frame off resto) due to any inclement weather that does arise in the mountains. The problem is that the race track does not offer any camping at the track at this event. I called the affilliated campground and 3 of the cloest campgrounds and none can accept any 45'. I got desperate and called wally world. Local ordinances say no overnite there. Does anyone know of a place "near" the track that could house a 45'er for 2 nites? Thanx |

Vern, did you try closer to the Delaware water gap? Its 20-25 miles away, probably tight down there also, check up 380 aways. |

Hey Vern What's up guy! Hey I think you should just put an articulating hydraulic system on the back of that jewel and add the bird parked in your garage and just look for truck stops.....Here's what I can find off hand that's in the area. East Stroudsburg 1. Mountain Vista Campground(Good Sam Park)570-223-0111. They have a few 45X75 pull through. 2. Delaware Water Gap (KOA) 570-223-8000 Pocono Vacation Park (Good Sam Park) 570-424-2587. They have a boat load of 25X55 pull throuhs 3. Brodheadsville: Silver Valley Holliday Camps ( Good Sam Park) (570)002-4824. They have a few 20X50 pull troughs. I don't see it in my travel notes buts I think there's one also out in Tannersville that has some. That's all I know of.......FLY like an Eagle...LOL Cade (Message edited by KozyCade on September 21, 2010) |

Vern, I can find no such restrictions at Hickory Run State park, just down the road from there. I worked there '93. We were back to visit early this summer, and I saw several over-sized campers in the sites near Rt 534(sites 281-297). They looked accessible. I would call the office first, to confirm size limits and that it will be open. My main concerns are: a) the weight of your coach, as with any campground, and b) making sure you use only the Albrightsville entrance of 534. One you drive past the campground, you are in school bus territory, not coach. There is a sharp uphill blind corner that was exciting for me in my Escort. Not because it was fun; but because I was wondering how I would look as a hood or fender ornament on someone's oncoming S&S. Here are links to the park and map. The map has directions and phone numbers: http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/hickoryrun.aspx http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/hickoryrun/hickoryrun_camp.pdf |

Thanx everyone ! Late yesterday, Pocono Racetrack called back and said they would accomodate me, as well as a couple other "big rigs" due to the nature of the show. Looks like I'll be staying at the venue after all ! |
