i put power steering on 04 using newer style vickers pump with remote resivor and box from transit 80s do i use 10- 40 ?

Mine is a '81 Grumman w/same pump, and specifies 30w, in the manual and on the reservoir.

If you use a motor oil use a 5 wt. Thin as possible so when it is cool out you don't starve the pump. It makes a lot of noise if the oil is to thick till it warms up. A lot of people use transmission fluid but if the seal in the pump goes it dumps it into the crankcase. Not to good for the bearings. My 2 cents worth. Bill
