Have recently been reading about Nano Tech.

One really interesting concept is they have a nano adative to add to water that makes the water cool up to 40% better.

Still experimental, but with every car , truck , genset maker in the world chomping at the bit to reduce costly radiator sizes , it wont be long.

For older coaches the new coolant MIGHT allow the fan off times to be far longer , saving a bunch of fuel.AS well as end the fear of going over 210F in a DD and blowing the head gasket.

Didn't find the article about a water additive in a quick 2 minute search on google, but did find where they were talking about a coating that they can put on metal that transfers heat 4 times faster than the untreated metal. Interesting, thanks for the info Fred.

The most interesting part of the article claimed liquid water has a structure like solid water (ICE).

The nano stuff is supposed to break up the water for better cooling.

Now dimpled radiator tubing is about all we can do to "break up" the liquid water.

I read about it in the tech issue of The Economist , but didn't save the issue.

If it's that great, it'll be too expensive to use; at least for a couple of years. Like led light bulbs for homes

What counts is that a 1% solution may have 25% better cooling.

With 100 quarts of coolant in the Sportscar that would only be one quart of majic needed.

The real question is will that quart cost a NASA $50,000 or a NAPA $4.95?
