Can someone tell me If a 8.3 Cummins Engine and Allison 5 speed will have enough power to push an Eagle model 10.

In my opionon "YES". But it depends on which 8.3. If a ISC at 300hp or better no problem. More power than the eagle had with the 8V71 |

8.3 is what they are putting in the Spartan Coach chassis for several of the "Custom" coaches on the market.
I would have to say it would be marginal at best, I think those coaches weigh around 23,000. |

It is all down to the horsepower and torque ratings of the motor and whether the tranny can cope with the weight of the completed bus.
Without those figures, one cannot make a decision.
Personally, from what I have seen the 8.3 installed in, I doubt if the set-up will do the job anymore successfully than the original power plant.

Performance wise, probably OK WITH the engine set at maximum. Believe the fire service version has 350 hp, but not sure. How heavy is your Eagle 10?
Economically, not so sure. If you got the mill and tranny for a $song$, then it may work $out$ OK. Have no idea how $involved$ the swap might be.
MIGHT be more plentiful ($cheaper$?) more powerful choices than the 8.2/505 Cummins. M10's, M11's and M12's come to mind. Good luck. |

don't go to all that trouble to put that little engine in your bus I driven very similar fire trucks one have the 8.3 the other had the 6v92ta its a no brainer for me give me that noisey 2cycle any day it also seems tha that 8.3 with an automatic is a real dog compared to the same engine with a manual
