Hi Friends, I'm going to put a switch on the kick plate under the sink to interrupt the power going to the pump. So I can turn off the water when needed, like washing you hands without touching the faucet. This means the switch would be normally on and when you push on it it would go off. The pump draws 10 amps. Does anyone know of a switch that would do the job? I've got a couple of 5 amp micro switches that I could hook up in parallel but I'd rather not. Thanks Jerry http://crowncoach.clanteam.com |

look at the switches that are used for turning on and off machinery like routers and table saws. They are an air actuated switch that is stepped on to turn off and again to turn on. I have one for my router table. it handles a 3 hp router and has lasted so far about 10 years. good luck Les |

Thanks, I found a flat switch at Graingers that looks like it will do the job. I'm trying to find one that you don't have to push very hard. Thanks Again Jerry |

That's a very nifty idea. Just remember not to push the pedal to turn off the water pump when someone is in the shower (which happens more times then you might imagine). I would suggest installing a 12vdc (or 24vdc whichever you use) normally open solenoid valve on both the hot and cold side of the sink. Then all you're turning off is that sink, not the whole system. Good Luck, TomC |
