I purchased a couple of Carrier rooftop ac units to install on my mc9. I was reading through the warranty and at the very end it says that the warranty does not apply if installed in a vehicle that is not built to R.V.I.A. standards. Does anyone have experience in getting warranty work done by Carrier on units installed in a bus conversion? Has anyone seen this exclusion on other products? Is it enforced?

Thanks
Will

I am pretty sure the only way to get an RVIA certificate is to be a member of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). Members include Winnebago, Monaco, Fleetwood, etc. Of course, you could alway go to an RV salvage yard and remove an RVIA certificate from a wrecked RV. Jack

You can't ,,,

most backyard convcersions are built to a far higher safty standard than a trash RV.

"Good stuff" is not "approved "
only the cheapest crap imaginable is "Approved" BY!!! the RV industry themselves.

Jack has the right idea ,
hit a junkyard & get a bunch of stickers.
