get a pattern made, of the "roundness" of the ceiling, transfer that to the shower stall& cut the excess off...that pattern needs to be saved, everytime I turn around I need it for something, make it out of something that will last |

We have lowered the floor in the shower by removing the wooden floor (1.5 inch thick) placing steel plate over the frame (between the wheel wells) and cutting a hole for a stainless steel sump. Water will be pumped from the box (about 5 inches deep by 4 inches wide by 12 inches long) to the sink drain BEFORE the trap. Idea courtesy FF....hope it works Balance of shower, including built in seat, is 1/2 inch plywood, lined with shower pan liner, small (2 by 2) ceramic tile finish. Adjustable water supply residential shower valve and spray hose attachment. 32 inches square. Just about right for us (5'9 and 5'6") Probably not great for a 6'1 person. "..works for me"! (I hope) RCB |

A lot of people use sump pumps. You don't need a stainless steel sump pump-- you can buy a marine shower sump pump made out of plastic that works quite well (I use a RULE 500 gph shower drain kit #97M). It can be mounted away from the shower and fed by a 1 1/2" reinforced hose. It also eliminates the need for a P trap if you plumb it right. On my bus I am hooking up all the sink drains to the sump pump so the system drains better and I don't have to be level. --Geoff '82 RTS CA |

How about lowering the floor? Sounds goofy, but what the heck. My Crown also has only about 66 inches of head room over the planned shower pan. Sosss, what the plan is right now is to relocate the starter batteries to the other side of the coach actually closer to the starter... ...then lower the floor directly under the shower pan. Actually, after careful measuring, it apprears this may work. Can go about 15 inches. Don't know if this will work for you or not. The other thing you can do is have a sit down shower. Not as bad is it sounds;... ...sitting down and using a shower wand actually is very comfy...at least for me, but then I getting kinda old. Go for it. Henry of CJ |

Just visited a 4104 that used a stock shower by sticking it in the center of the bathroom & building a side isle. Fast cheap , uncomplicated and it worked well. FAST FRED |

I'm down 18 to 19 inches from floor with shower base. Also had room for trap. Just about got it all in. Been working fine for 2 years. No pump needed. |
