Hi All
Looking for a kit to add dash A/C to my Eagle.
It has no bus A/C and never had dash air.
Heard that out there some where there was a kit that replaced the defroster core and had the workings for the dash a/c.
Anyone know of anything like that out there?
Thanks

Try www.vintageair.com or www.hotrodair.com

Between them you should be able to find a system that will work.

I just installed a Vintage Air unit in a GM4106. I had to remove the defroster, but the VI unit has defrost. You might check Red Dot if you have the space and want more capacity.

Lee,

Is your defroster box and fan still there?

I bought a 5000 btu window unit new for about 90 bucks and "split" it myself placing the evaporator in front of the defroster/heater fan and putting the condenser and compressor in the tool compartment.

The unit draws five amps which my inverter supplies while my batts are kept charged by my merge circuit from the engine alt.

Only wish I had used an 8000 btu unit.

FWIW,

I put dash air on my 06 years ago, works great and never a problem, used a sanyo compresser and two small sized evaporaters which produce 22500 btus each that are normally used on street rods and other cars, also a condenser that really works but is small in size, one unit in the dash, one in the dinett seat, you can call mike brown at rainbow products near charlotte nc, give him space avail and he can set you up with what you need. his number is 704-278-0054, i have no interest in this only trying to help you get a system that works well, and this guy is very honest. you will have to figure out how to mount your compresser yourself , he wil;l not have the brackets etc for it. Whelch industries also does this work outside of alanta Ga

Try this site for sure: www.danhard.com

Real nice people that seem to know their stuff. I have not bought anything from them yet, but might.
