Hi All Got a strange email today about my "Bus 4 Sale" ad on the BNO site - http://www.busnut.com/classifieds/index.php?a=2&b=706 My RTS was sold a couple of months ago - I wanted to let others know how well the BNO site worked - So I edited my ad to CLEARLY show that it was sold - and sold in 2 weeks - I also wanted to let others know what the Bus conversion market prices were. Seems that this has annoyed "Fred Nelken - FASTER FREDDIE" - seems he finds my actions "OFFENSIVE" Well tell me guys - Is my well intentioned act deserving of his electronic scorn - or is the info in my ad helpful to others looking for or selling Bus Conversions P.S. - True to my Hot Temper - I found Freds phone number and let him know EXACTLY how I felt about his concerns - VENTING IS SO GOOD FOR THE SOUL !!! ????? Ya done good Pete! Besides, I think Ian's ad's are one of the est venues available. Too bad some of the people who peruse it can't read, and some of the people who post ads don't answer their email. (Not you)! |

A question Pete, Has Fred sold his A3? If not, maybe that explains his sour mood? G |

You do sound like a bunch of losers? What a waste of time, you that think you know so much. I could give my bus away too, if I was that lame. Try to sell yours, there still all for sale. I guess Pete can be a flake if he wants to, after all that's his right? Good luck Faster_freddie |

Pete, Didn't just ramble, he showed his true IQ? And his so called "soul" is pretty shallow! I really don't have time for these childish games, but good luck with them. And, Pete, I'd really like to tell you what I think but this isn't the place for that, so maybe your nurse will explain it to you between diaper changes. I refuse to stoop to the level Pete is showing and I won't dis-respect the good people here on this board with bad language or? faster_freddie |

Pete seems to me like a good approach. I was not aware that you were selling your beautiful bus. Are you going to do another one? Hope you stay in the loop, as you are a wealth of information when it comes to DDEC and other subjects. Pete - I'd Like to say to You. Congrats on selling your bus at whatever price you were happy with. Someday, I’d like to sell my RTS and move on to another conversion or whatever. Anyway, I know you won’t take any of that negativity too seriously. I’ve always respected your valuable advice and hope you will stay around and participate in the ‘madness’. If I were selling my bus, I would certainly use the BNO site and any other site that I felt would help market my bus to a new owner --- PS- I purchased some solenoids from you for my leveling system years ago - and I felt you were very helpful and sold a very high quality item. The system turned out great and thanks again for being fair and honest in your dealings. Phil Smith – Prescott , Az |

I think the famous-ness of Pete's bus sold it and sold it so fast. Who wouldn't want the infamous at any price? How much would you pay for the fleas in Fast Fred's handlebar moustache? See? Exactly!! Besides, who doesn't like the price of a WoBN's Classifieds on BNO ad? :~) Ian www.busnut.com |

To maybe shed a little light on this from an impartial viewpoint? I don't know Pete, other than from posts here. I do know Fred, only because I purchased a Webasto from him. More importantly, there were huge discussions here a couple of years ago about a "Sun Cloud" I think, electric resistance heater, an Incinolet electric toilet, and Halogen hot plates instead of a stove. Fred was a real proponent, and posted a lot about how great they were. All are in his bus. The "Sun Cloud" heater actually uses heat lamps instead of a resistance element, but just like everything else, electric resistance heat produces 3,412 BTU per Kilowatt. The problem is that we all can buy a 1,500 Watt electric heater at Home Box for $29.95 or less that will put out EXACTLY THE SAME HEAT as the $400.00 (Yep, FOUR HUNDRED dollar) Sun Cloud. The $29.95 cheapo will last longer also, because it doesn't have bulbs that burn out. Wait until you buy a 500 Watt heat lamp! Several fellow Nuts posted concerns about the ability of one 1500 Watt (5118 BTU) heater to heat a bus on a cold day, which weren't too well received. I also had prior experience with Incinolet toilets on locomotives. The smell was so bad that we would not use the toilet on the front engine, instead we would walk back to the second engine while moving. That way the burning smell stunk up a cab with nobody in it. The railroad gave up after about two years and 300 of them, and went back to blue juice. As I remember, the toilet draws 1800 Watts at 120 Volts, which is 15 Amps. I mentioned the Amp draw, and was answered "...it has a 20 Amp breaker, so there's no problem..." A burn cycle takes 20 minutes. There was also some humor posted at poor Fred's expense about what would get burned if the toilet shorted out while you were using it, but anyhow. Next came halogen hot plates instead of a stove. Still 3,412 BTU per Kilowatt. So, as I posted then on a cold morning: 1500 Watts Block Heater 1800 Watts Toilet 1500 Watts Water Heater 4800 Watts Total, which exceeds the SW4024 Inverter. So, he would have had to start the 7000 Watt generator the bus WAS equipped with to get up on a cold morning, relieve himself, wash his hands, and turn on the block heater so he could leave in a couple of hours. In the meantime, why not have some breakfast, and get warm while we're waiting? 4800 Watts already mentioned, plus 1000 Watts for the microwave, 1000 Watts for ONE hotplate, (theres two) and 1500 Watts for the Sun Cloud 8300 Watts = CLICK (the sound the 7 KW generator output breaker makes when it trips.) I know, an SW4024 will help out the 120 Volt input from the batteries, but its 1300 Watts behind, before we even think about the other hot plate, the refrigerator, water pump, lights or a TV! Now maybe we know why his bus hasn't sold, and why he's in a bad mood. One thing we know for sure, I'm going to hear about this! G |

I know Fred he is not all that bad he does do things his way he has the right too after all it was his money and it is a nice bus I don't care for the colors but it is his not mine fwiw. It is easy to heat and cool and it works for him last I heard he was keeping the bus and selling the truck coach, one of the cook tops is a induction type I do like the cooking setup with no counter top burners like most they pop up out of drawers to be used pretty good idea to me. Now the about toilet the times I was in the bus there was no smell at all but I don't think I would like one I have no idea what happen between him and Pete and could care less good luck |

Hey Guys FAST FRED is not FASTER FREDDIE (FASTER FREDDIE is Fred Nelken from Pahrump NV) he is the one that finds my "SOLD" ad OFFENSIVE not FAST FRED - While I may not agree with FAST FRED's politics and his cryptic style of replies on the bus boards - I CERTAINLY do appreciate his broad knowledge of Buses and Engineering - Fast Fred and I may clash from time to time - but I've grown to respect his "do it your way" & the frugality of many of his methods. I swear, I never knew how bickery men could be until I started hangin in male dominated hobby forums lol and to think it is women who have the bad reputation!! Hogwash!! On another note, Pete you have always been very helpful to me and gone over and beyond to help me and I am forever grateful for everything. Im sorry to find out your beautiful bus is gone and that I couldnt have afforded to buy it myself. I do hope whoever got it takes very good care of it and has a LOT of fun with it though! |

While I may not agree with FAST FRED's politics and his cryptic style of replies on the bus boards . Us Freedom FROM gov folks on the Right always have a different point of view from the collectiveist freedom FOR government on the Left. So Pete and I agree to disagree. AS a one finger typist , cryptic takes less finger pounding. Frugal take understanding , dumping money is by far the easiest method of most anything. But a whole lot less FUN! FF |

And I have also appreciated Fred's input on his experience with boat components and ways the the boat community has found to solve problems (and also his warning that their stuff is EXPENSIVE). Pete has provided specific electrical info both on the board and in private emails that has saved me time and money. Both have been helpful to me and I thank you. |

Remember Fred, you're not saving money on this forum by using fewer letters in your replies. Pete.. was the guy upset that your listing price was hurting the sale of his? |

chessie Fred is not anywhere as cryptic as he used to be years ago, I think he has become a master two finger typist much like me. Amazing what a little practice does in relearning a lost skill from some fifty years ago. Joe. |
