I am having my coach painted and I wouldn't proceed unless they can replace the painted upper windshields with fiberglass panels bonded to the cap and appearing seamless like a new conversion. My cap is good, so it seems pointless to replace the whole cap to get the new smooth look. I checkes with R & M and they don't have a replacement. Looks like the paint and body man is going to make the fiberglass replacements at a hot rod shop down the street. If any body else wants to get a set let me know and I'll put you in touch.

I've already used this bus body shop in Orlando for replacement of SS panels from IBP and rear cap repair. His fiberglass and paint work was excellent. I could have waited on paint but the price was too good. Repaint in Imron, original colors and design is costing me $4000. I like the original colors and design.

Steve:
I have a Le Mirage with the same high windows above the windshield. I was planning on covering those windows with a cap from R&M but if a cover is made to provide a smooth cap I would be interested in the cover. I am interested in getting more info on the window covers in addition to the painting. Can I E-mail you?

Turns out the painted windows were already fiberglass, not glass. The shop removed the rubber windshield seal around them, fastened them in place and fiberglass bonded them to the surounding fiberglass cap. IF your coach was in bus service you may have glass there. They must also make stock fiberglass windows for coaches that did not want glass up there. You have to remove the windshields also to do this and one was broken on removal, and that by a professional.
