Hello all. On the RTS buses there is a large bundle of wires running from the cockpit to the engine. I call this the "umbilical cord" and it controls most if not all of the "drive by wire" and other circuits of the bus. My question is, "Are there any high current lines in this umbilical?". I am concerned about a potential fire hazard that could result from installing this umbilical behind the wall and adjacent to polyurethane insulation. thanks all Jared |

Hi Jared, I owned an RTS for a while and had all the manuals. I don't recall any high current lines. Besides, this is a commercial vehicle. If there was a slight chance of melt down, it would have been routed under the bus perhaps. I believe your good to go. Craig S. |

The wiring harness is originally routed in the ducting for the heat and air conditioning. It is always a good idea to keep the harness in a somewhat open area that you can access. --Geoff '82 RTS CA |
