i just purchased a 4104 it has a oil cooled alternator and the repair manul only covers a air cooled how do i check to see if it wared properly

Common sense would state that " if it is charging, it is working" as far as oil cooled generators go, most have a #4 or #5 line exiting the top of the generator near the rear.(opposite drive gear or belt pulley)

If you remove this line then start the coach you should see oil flowing out., this means that the cooling procedure is operational. Beware, once it starts running, it won't stop until a few seconds after the engine is shut down.

Another warning, this location is NOT a good spot to tap in an oil pressure sending unit.
