Phil I put my house batterys on a platform that I put on top of my holding tanks. I floored the tanks on top and that gave me a level place for my batterys . I also put my inverter there. Still have room for storage.

We need to be concerned about putting batteries anywhere arcing or other electrical sparks may occur. If the battery gasses are not eliminated, an explosion could occur. Most inverters contain relays which will arc when making or breaking.

You have that area in the engine compartment where the A/C compressor was. Some say too much heat but I think it's about the same as your car. If you have a 5c with 1 baggage door on the passanger side, like mine. I'm going to put in a short black tank on that wall that divides the two bays. So I cut a hole in that wall about 3 feet towards the drivers side and boxed off the area not used by the other two holding tanks and picked up an area that could be batteries, propane, whatever. Did you take out the old heater equipment? I did and picked up abunch of room next to the coach battery box and in front of the fuel tanks. RJ

I changed from 8d batterys to group 31 and put them where the air cond. compressor was, am using battery compartment for 2 lp tanks, I took out heater and air cores and will use that area for my house batterys and inverter on my 79 5C. I know I know engine compartment is to hot for batterys, but they have a 7 yr. guarentee so I'm not going to worry about that,
