just got done cleaning all the parts all day job i dont know how the engine breathed took the whole assy. down full of oil and dirt all most pluged up on top of plenium the oil bath cleaners did the job to keep out the dirt it should go real good now .ill cheak it out in anouther week when im on vacation. |

AS you face the engine from the rear , there is a box in the upper right hand corner with a bunch of screws on the bottom .
IF you remove the screws you may find a few more pounds of dirt slowing the air flow to the dist box you just cleaned.
A stick GM should get between 9 and 10 mpg with clean intake system and not over 1950 RPM in cruse.
Da Book sez you need to service the oil bath every 1500 miles , allong with a bunch of other stuff.

Fred!! Are you sure you meant 1500 miles?? That's two days driving for a line bus. 15,000 sounds more like the number.

IN the back of Da Book is the lube/maint sked, yes 1500 miles is the service interval.
Remember these coaches were serviced every night that maint was avilable.
