I keep loosing my prime 83 MCI9 6v92, I took the check valve out and cleaned it. I would like to know about how much pressure the flap has it doesnt seem like much. Thanks Gary |

Gary, I have a simular problem... See thread "Fuel drains back (4905)" I have a 45 degree fitting on my bulhead that the checkvalve mounts to. That makes the run back from the primary filter downhill. I think I will give the 45 fitting a bit of a twist so that the valve runs about 15 degrees UpHill, rather than 45 degrees DownHill... I think I have a long enough fuel line to do that. Perhaps you could try the same thing with yours Will report back in a few days, I just dropped her off in the storage yard 30 miles away My check valve is in good shape... Peter E |

second thought... the pipe running downhill puts the weight of the fuel on the flaper valve... pushing it Closed. the setup I have should be optimal. there must be another leak or a siphon on the return line. Peter E |
