I keep loosing my prime 83 MCI9 6v92, I took the check valve out and cleaned it. I would like to know about how much pressure the flap has it doesnt seem like much.
Thanks
Gary

Gary, I have a simular problem... See thread "Fuel drains back (4905)"
I have a 45 degree fitting on my bulhead that the checkvalve mounts to. That makes the run back from the primary filter downhill.
I think I will give the 45 fitting a bit of a twist so that the valve runs about 15 degrees UpHill, rather than 45 degrees DownHill... I think I have a long enough fuel line to do that.
Perhaps you could try the same thing with yours
Will report back in a few days, I just dropped her off in the storage yard 30 miles away
My check valve is in good shape...

second thought... the pipe running downhill puts the weight of the fuel on the flaper valve... pushing it Closed. the setup I have should be optimal.
there must be another leak or a siphon on the return line.
