We have a 6V92 with a 730 Allison Tranny and a Rockwell 5:29 rearend. We're running 12.5 x 22.5 tires. What gear ratios would be best to run 70 mph at 1850 rpm without taking away from takeoff speed? Question #2: IS the Allison 731 the overdrive transmission?

4.10 will give you what you want - The loss of power on take off is not very noticeable

v730/v731 for the RTS II

(left hand engines/no retrader/3 speed/lockup
rated 275HP)

v731 is the computer controlled version
v731=push button shifter v730=lever shifter

v730 - almost all v730/v731 are .88 to 1 overdrive but - there were a few "underdrives" delivered with the 6v71 powered RTS's
