Maybe a diaphram blown in the can on that side, the one that RELEASES the DD3?

Dana, if it was me, I'd check to be certain you are building air (120 psi). With the wheels chocked have someone release the parking brake, then step on the service brakes. Listen carefully for air leaks anywhere, but especially on the passenger side drive axle. It may be just what Don suggested.

Hi Dana23,

There are several things that may be wrong including those already mentioned:

- Any service or spring brake component may be defective.
- A brake pedal port may be blocked or otherwise defective.
- A brake hose, air tubing or a fitting may have a leak.
- The quick release valve may be defective.
- The 2-way check valve may be defective.
- If your brakes were badly in need of adjustment, you may have rolled an s-cam, although this may not actually prevent the bus from moving.
- A return spring may have broken - again, not necessarily preventing the bus from moving.
- If you have DD3 brake chambers, it has 3 air lines and 2 diaphrams. Should the diaphragm fail, special valves cause the second diaphragm to be used, allowing for emergency braking, or, in your case, preventing the bus from moving. Instead of using a power spring, the DD3 has rollers that lock the pushrod in place for parking. When the vehicle is to be parked, the service brakes are applied and the parking control valve is used to allow these rollers to lock the pushrod in place.

Hope this list is helpful.

Regards,

Ian Giffin

are you pushing HARD on the brake pedal after you release the parking brake?...also wouldn't hurt to get some of that stuff you put in air lines, and wouldn't hurt to wd-40 or liquid wrench the moveing (shiney) parts back there
