WHAT You probably have is an old "constant amps" style charger. These are great at restoring deep cycle batts , as the strong charge 10A , at the finish brings the batts back to 100%.

Unfortunatly they work best with batts that can be slightly overcharged and have water put back .

IF your batts are sealed , they are prob starting batts and better left to the engine alt, as that has a very slow finish.

Your unit would br great for restoring sulphated deep cycle batts , with a good pulser to break down the sulphated plates.

FAST FRED
