I saw an Eagle at the Brownsville rally back on 2007 with glued siding and wow it looked good. Sikaflex was the glue of choice. I think the guy was from Michigan but can't remember. I'm not sure what you mean about "filler".

If exposed to the air Home Depot "5200" Paint-able, seals fittings and seams on Boats even under water. Will cure in about 7 days completely so any overage make sure you clean off before that.

By the way you have stated your "problem"
you lead a person to believe that your panels were
"Butt-Joined" rather than the more traditional
"Over-lapped" method of application....
thus you have joints where there were none previously....
and I think that is where the confusion lies with anyone reading & desiring to help or advise...
Is my assumption correct?

Ah Ha..!
Now I see and you won't!

I would consider filling from behind to keep the mating line clean.
Beyond that I can only advise from experience not to use Sika flex or Silicone sealer...also add sanding/filler red putty.

AFTER I did mine, I wished that I had used a vinyl "door edge guard strip" around the perimeter w/the joint at the bottom middle, to fill the gap cleanly, I expect the life expectancy wouldn't be more than 4-5 years tho.
