I'm about 15 miles from them, I just sent them an Email-- Converting to inches was easier for me: 20' from the floor, measuring up the walls, over the ceiling to the floor on the other side. It's a 30' bus. 20X12 = 240 lin in, walls and ceiliing 30X12 = 360 lin in, length of the bus 240X360 = 86400 sq in for my 2" think walls, I multiply X 2 86400 X 2 = 172800 now 1 cubic foot is 12X12X12 = 1728 (Isn't that cosmic?) 172800 / 1728 = 100 sq ft. for my bus Gary |

Tom: Is that how it is measured for marketing purposes, by the equivelent board foot? Do they charge you for Pine, Oak, Black Walnut, or Brazilian Rosewood? |

I sprayed my own MC8 and spent $1500, plus some extra that was given to me that had been partially used. I filled all cavities completely so that I had to shave every inch down a little. However I would hire it done if I was to do it over. It is not hard to do, but like anything else, there is a learning curve and I certainly did not save anything. Ted |

I filled the walls and ceiling. It makes the bus tight and quiet. It took me 2 days to shave it down.If you go on Yahoo groups to MCI-bus-nuts and click on "photos", the on "Ted and.." you will see some photos of before and after foam on my bus. Ted |

I'm having no luck finding any one that sale or does foam insolation in my area.( charlotte NC ) So I think I'll order 2 of the two-component spray foam. From Polytech Foam Product Inc.'s 1084 Essex Avenue Richmond, CA 94801.Thinking if i go 2 inches on the walls and ceiling should get all of a 35 foot bus. The R-value for the spray foam is approximately R8 per inch. I was hopping to beat the shipping cost but no luck. Any one willing to shair any ideas on shaving or tips would be helpful thanks |

Try construction spray foam places in your city. If they are not listed try Calling some large contractors in your area and ask for a referal to who they use. If you have your bus masked, prepped, and mobile you may be able to meet the spray foamer at a site where they are working and get them to spray it at their work site at a substantial discount. I was told to spray the ribs with Pam no stick spray. I was told that the foam companies use it on their hoses to make cleanup easy, said it wipes right off. [They said to make sure it wasn't the stuff with Garlic because it would stink]. The advantage over the kits is that it will be hot sprayed for better expansion and R-value. |

I can't imagine there not being a commercial spray foam insulation contractor in every major town in the United States. We have 6 in Tampa, FL Your just not looking in the right place, try calling a commercial steel building manufacture in your area, they use a lot of spray foam. The foam in my bus and the foam in my house were both sprayed by a local insulation company for $1 a board foot, sprayed, trimmed and mess cleaned-up and hauled away. Tom C |
