made the trip from houston to shrevport.. actually princeton... uneventful.... took 5 hrs to go the 260 miles .... got the avalanche loaded... it had been sitting 5 months.... 'ol 6.2 diesel stated right up....strapped the hood closed.... strapped the junk in back down... and headed home... drove 35...40... 45...50 downhill....the avalanche loaded like it was weighs 7k plus....and it was on a 16' car hauler trailer that weighs about 1500lbs... so i had a pretty good load for a f150 ford with a fuel-injected 302...pulled in overdrive most of the way.. shifed back and forth as it wanted... took 6 1/2 hrs to make the return trip...another 260 miles....got in last night at 10pm..... lots of interesting traffic...didnt see any conversions on the road.. there's several in some rv parks i always see...but i did see a schoolie painted like the "partridge family"... it was headed east on i-20....downtown bossier city.....

All makes sense, EXCEPT why on earth would a guy torture himself for almost 12 hours in a gassy ford when he has a DIESEL DODGE!!
Glad you had a happy trip.
