We have a Honda EV-6010 that had a small oil leak. We were in Riverside, CA. and we looked in the phone book, for an authorized Honda repair place. We called several, and this place seemed to be the best. They squeezed us in, and after spending 3 days with them fiddlefarting around (it was only supposed a few hours), and us having to chase them around, to keep them working, not talking, and spending nearly $400 they finally fixed the rear oil seal. We are a music group, and have a tour schedule. We missed one concert, and couldn't miss any more. We paid them, and left. But before we left, made sure that they put in writing, that if the repair didn't work, they would cover the cost at a different shop. We we NOT sure if they knew what they were doing. Well, we left, and ran the generator for a couple of hours. Guess what? It leaks WORSE now! We need a GOOD repair shop in either the Paso Robles, CA. area, San Jose, CA. area, or preferably the Coos Bay, Oregon area. We don't know if the place was legit or not, or if they will even re-imburse us, but it is worth the try.

Thanks

I am in Alameda, CA. (Next to Oakland)

I know several of the local marine shops, however hondas are not normally Marine generatros.

I can give you some contacts in this area if you think it will help.

Try Honda of Milpitas in Milpitas, CA (right next to San Jose). 408-263-6060. Talk to Pete in service and tell him I sent you. Shop rate is around $65/hr, but they do good work. I assume they work on the gensets, since they sell 'em (my experience with them is with motorcycles -- they've serviced all my bikes for the last ten years).

Some suggestions:
You might check the Honda website. It lists dealers selling Honda generators. The site shows one in Medford, OR and some in N. CA.
I'd guess any dealer has access to a list of shops authorized by Honda for warranty repairs.
Good luck!
