Not difficult at all if you replace them with lifetime urethane bushings. They are two piece and go in real easy. Advantage of the urethane is that they will tighten up the front axle and make the steering more responsive. Disadvantage is that they will transmit more road cracks and vibration thru to the shell. If you replace them with original type rubber, make the tool shown in the maintanence manual to compress them to get them into the radius rod ends. You may find that the stubs that they mount to are severely rusted and it may be difficult to get the old ones off. A crowbar is the tool of choice in this situation. Have a come-along handy just in case the axle shifts a bit and needs to be moved to re-align the rod ends with the stubs. Soapy water is the lubricant of choice if needed. Obviously, no oils to lubricate rubber. Jim |
