A guy in Santa Rosa, CA put one in an Eagle though I don't know the model. Haven't seen it, just heard about it. Think his name is Kenny Dikes or similar, and think he runs 'Johnny Franklin Muffler' shop. Second hand information, but the door is a fact. Don't have any opinions on it, but he, apparently, thought it worthwhile. Can't argue with 'his way' or yours. TomNPat |

Why? The same reasons that there is a drivers side door on all passenger cars and OTR trucks. Richard |

I seldom, if ever, stop on a busy street where I would be getting out in traffic. And after 50 years of experience, I know to look for traffic before I step out of my car or truck (both of which have driver side doors). I assume I would do the same if I had a driver’s side door on a coach. Also, every time I stop for fuel or any other reason, the passenger has to get unbuckled (yes we do wear seat belts) and the foot rest lowered so that I can get out. I have had RV's with and without the driver side door, and the convenience of a driver side door is great. Personally, I would love to have it. It would probably be a real pain to install due to all the electrical in the panel beside the driver, but raising a roof or many other things that bus nuts do is a pain, but it gets done. Richard |

I 44 bus sales just east of Springfield MO has added doors on several Eagles. They just moved the electrical panel futher underneath the driver. This is a dead space anyway, oh yeah I think they had raised the driver area level with the living area to have the room for the elec panel. So I guess they must have to raise the roof also. And so it goes. Prather |

like I said...to each his own...with less labor,you could have a sunken tub,...or a basement "mother-in-law" room... |
