Hey guys, posted in the wrong place, under EBay listings as On Site Inspections, is an attempt to get a list of bus guys together, have a map with contacts on it, use our resources better. We only have two votes for Ian to do it, he responds best when under pressure from us, kind of a "squeaky wheel gets the grease" type thing. Help out, I am not squeaking very loud right now.

OK, OK!
In an earlier thread, Don wrote:
Those that don't want to vote must be one of the following:
1. Don't even have a bus and know nothing about them, afraid someone will stop by and embarass them.
Passed this test a month ago!
2. Too selfish to share their knowledge or even a pair of pliers with another bus guy.
Ain't got much knowledge, but willing to share
3. Paranoid that someone will steal all their bus stuff.
Ain't got nuthin to steal
4. Have been bragging up their total junk yard bus so long, that they just cannot allow someone to stop and see it.
Ain't got nuthin to brag about YET!
If someone who has not voted can give another reason, it is your turn, we are waiting.
Um, here's my vote, but can't remember what it's for ;)
Heck, even I can be the coordinator of this one, I can keep track of three guys without the computer even.
You're a talented fellow

This list thingmy was done on another Group a year or so, or
was it in conjunction with this Board, CRS is hell. Anyway,
someone was doing it.

FMCA has a list of all its members who are willing to assist
in various ways and those that offer overnight stops to
members.

Surely all we need to have our own BNO list is to keep our
Profiles up to date and have them cataloged in a State by
State list with additions of what assistance and facilities
we each can offer.

Not sure if the "travelling" locator would work that well,
too much work and it would rely on each mobile member having
internet connection everyday to update.

Those who full-time could amend their own Profiles as they move around the Country.

Peter.

Be prepared for heaping piles of abuse, we seem to do that without even trying sometimes. Just goes with the territory I guess.

Last year, my wife Charlene, asked how old are we and had kept that updated for a while. Then someone else asked where are we and I think I@n then compiled that into a list, so it is somewhat existing, herein.

I would vote to have Ian do it, may not be that onerous, but sure would be helpful.

The Coach Builders Bulletin by George and Sue Meyers has such a list, but it is only a page or two long, kind of limited to their subscribers.

You list your name and if you are availabel to just talk to bus people in your area or passing through, if you can offer help of any kind to bus people passing through, and if you can offer a place for a night or two's parking, with or without utils for people passing through.

Seems like a great idea.

It would be nice to know you got a bus buddy list that can lend a helping hand in need where ever you might be. I hate to see anyone on the side of the road plus how dangerous it can be on the side of the road. Count me in I have no hook ups yet but could park a 40 foot for the night and offer a helping hand .

We're in Ketchikan, AK, and can find room to park a bus or two. In a pinch, we can even deal with some utilities. And lend a hand if something needs doing.

Besides, we like the company. If anyone wanted to come to town, we could probably help.

So, count us in!

I would like to see a network of bus guys . It would be a comfort to know were ever you are in the US or Canada you would have some one you can call. Or a place you could have your bus towed to work on . I would like to be part of it . I can park a few buses.

Now if we could just get that on some sort of US Map like that neat one Scott uses, it would REALLY be useful. Would need some sort of address or phone number or email address to find them too, and some idea of what you would find in the area of parking or mechanical help or what.

Our name and address are already on FMCA and Coach Builders Bulletin lists. We will gladly add it this list. We have five 30 amp hook-ups, a shop full of tools to repair just about anything, and can do inspections (with prior notice) in south Florida. We always enjoy having "busnuts" stop by for a visit (a few have even stayed several months). Jack & Paula Conrad, Arcadia, Florida.

Craig, thats a great list, but would be even better if it had:

contact numbers
coversation only
help resources available?
overnight parking

After I get far enough along to sell my 5th wheel, I will have room to park one extra bus for a night or two. San Diego area

Well I can only handle four, but all on concrete, pull thru, no need to unhook the toad, 50amp service, close enough to the interstate you can hear the roar.

I can get a dozen or so packed in the driveway, once in, last in gets first out. No facilities though. Dry camping only.

Room for a few to stayover without getting hemmed in though. 8 miles from I-40, no traffic roar, quiet generators only.

Mechanic friend lives nearby. My back doesn't allow me to play much these days.

I've about 30 acres, 3/4 clear. Now that would hold a lot of busses, but when it rains here in TN it'll take a BIG wrecker to tow them out of the sticky clay (been there done that with a bulldozer I burried). Did have two busses for a drum and bugle parked her for quite awhile this year so it's no big deal.

About 10 mi. off I-24 Eastbound, near Murfreesboro, which is about 35 miles S.E. of Nashville.

I've power in my shop that could be plugged into, tools and such. But this is a dry camping spot for septic. And be warned, we speak Neoplan and Series 60 here, not 4XXX GM words and the only Eagles around fly overhead on rare occasions.

What we need to get Ian to do is add this under the tree view and set it up by states and let the people add their information and then be able to edit it down the road as things changes.

I'm a newby here but if anybody is in Canada (Ontario) I can park up to 5 buses. Also have very good diesel mechanic available. This is dry camping. Also about 10 miles away there is a small park with dry camping and a dump station for $2.00 a night. We are in Grand Bend On. which is only 50 miles from Port Huron MI. Anyone interested we hold a Bus rally towards the the end of August every year. E-mail if interested.
