Great bus nut. Really willing to help anyone in the bus field. His book explains in great detail how to do the V730 O/D. |

I have been following this V730 OD issue for a while now. I have a 4106 with a V730 and I have a 'new' V731 on the shelf. If I had the VS2 planitary gear needed for the upgrade then I would go ahead and get Bill's book. Where can I order a VS2 gear unit? Joe |

Two D you probably don't have room for an air shifted brownie box... but that would sure be the ticket for you. A buddy of mine has one under his old Madsen conversion, behind a 300 cummins and an allison. He has had it way up over a hundred on the flat... Crazy shaking rattling ride that it is. Brian |

Now if anyone has one of them there Brownie Boxes that will live behind 350hp and 1350 ft lbs of torque, or something similar, then do please let me know. I have only seen lightweight ones on Ebay. Allison don't reckon using one when on the move for some reason or another. Two speed axle, yes, but Brownie, no. Peter. |

company i used to work for in lubbock... REYNOLDS... built cotton module moving trucks.... we installed air-shifted 1241, 8341, 7341 spicer 4 speed auxillaries behind allison autos... didn't recomment shifting the aux, while under way... 4th was overdrive, 3rd direct....the aux was used to get the top mount pto (power tower) necessary to make the truck bed work...if the allison tran is in 3rd or 4th, where its torque convertor is in "lock", the aux can be shifted.... otherwise, the aux would grind till the correct rpm was met.... |
