RJ And others; Having driven countless miles as we all have, I have encountered people driving with cell phones, reading papers, putting make-up on and the list goes on. We can't lay all the blame on a BUS driver all the time. I have been cut-off,birded,screamed at and all the above all because I was driving the speed limit,if possible sometimes traffic won't let you but try to. I can't stop a 30,000lb coach as fast as you can a 3,000 lb car. Just be aware of your surrendings and road conditions. If you get tired PULL OVER AN REST it isn't worth having and accident over needing to be somewhere so you can go to bed. Think of others and if they flip you off just say Lord,Bless them and forgive them and go on down the road, You will feel MUCH better.

Drivers: Wear your seatbelt and stay on the inside.

Never mind the rhetoric, put the #$$#^ seatbelt on.

happy coaching!

Or don't put the seatbelt on and help skim off the crud in the gene pool!

There can be an element of "First to report the bad newz" Syndrome responsible for this....
If there are 2 behaviors North America is famous for it is
watching "train wrecks" & what goes on in other peoples bedrooms.
I tend to side with you Gus...
these things happen everyday of the week in some degree.
Regarding the Professional techniques of the drivers of these rigs...
I sat frozen in 6 lane traffic while a Cycle Poice Escort
led 6 giant thru town at speeds of 70-80 MPH
weaving in and out of oncoming & turn lanes
for over 7 miles....
it was an absolute miracle that not one person was injured or killed by an unconscious 24 inch movement.

Gus I think it is a reminder for those of us who drive these rigs recreationally just how much is at stake and great amount of responsibility we carry for the safety of those around us. At least that's what I get out of it.....

It seems a bit morbid to me, but maybe not.

The type of driving we do doesn't appear to me to have much in common with commercial conditions.

I just finished reading a book about people rushing down to the beach to watch for a forecast Tsunami - weird!!

WHOA HEY...!
what a coincidence..!!
I just finished reading a POST
about a guy who just finished reading a book about
people rushing down to the beach to watch for a forecast Tsunami ...DOUBLE WEIRD or WHAT!!!

What do you suppose that means...?

Do you think it might have anything to do with earthquakes in Japan..?

Not only that you & I BOTH own Busses, what are the odds of that?

(I am practicing "stupid" in order to be more incognito when the malcontents take over)

I prefer to learn from the misadventures of others.

The parallels to our own recreational existence are there for the looking.

Just imagine the back story on some of us...

Never mind what a post event inspection of the coach might report...

happy coaching!

my own first trip trusting the PO telling me the tires are fine and having 3 blowouts on my way to Dalla's could have been bad for this newbie

"I prefer to learn from the misadventures of others. "
that ought to be the motto for this forum!

Nothing beats learning at someone else's expense
unless
they are willing to pay you as well..!
Ian, when can I expect a check?

While we are on a thread of Bus Destruction ...
you might want to have a look thru this slide show from Japan...
busses destroyed, ships on top of houses, ships in the middle of the freeway, cars on top of 3 story buildings, ship parked at the front door of an apartment house......

The pace looks worse than after the A-Bomb blasts.

After this last crash , the folks decided to inspect busses!

AS I understand it ZERO passed !

These clowns have gotten away with no rules for so long they may give a bad name to even our bus campers!

Had a DOT front to rear inspection lately?

If your coach looks comercial get ready! Mr Schumer wants all "low cost" carriers to be audited. not sure how he is gonna seperate lower from higher.
