I may have the opportunity to take two of my grandchildren to visit their relatives in Mexico City for a few months this summer. I read in the past that it was not safe to travel in Mexico in an expensive looking Motor Home. We could leave our coach in storage near the border and drive the car down, but it would be nice to have the coach if it is safe. I do not speak enough Spanish to deal with bandits or corrupt officials. Otherwise I would love to go and take the coach. It is a 1981 Prevost LeMirage that looks as good as any new one, only it is 96 inches wide.

Any advice?

I HAVE A PREVOST AND HAVE BEENING GOING TO ACAPULCO FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS,AND I WILL GO BACK THIS YEAR FOR ANOTHER 5 MONTHS. IF YOU LISTEN TO ALL THE ADVICE ON THE STREET THEN STAY HOME. THEY ARE WRONG!!! I FEEL SAFER THEIR THAN HERE.

WE have been going to Mexico for 25 years and I think its safer than here. The people who have trouble are usually doing something stupid, or are acting like the "Ugly American".
Just be sure to purchase insurance, and have a good time.
I don't know where to stay In Mexico City. Last time we were there we found a nice RV park right in the middle of town.
If you get a Sanborns Guide it will help. Neil
