I saw a 1990 or so Beaver conversion recently that had three panels (driver, galley, and bed room) that each controlled every single light in the coach. Each light had a LED on the panel to show the current status. There was also and “all on” and an “all off” button. Does anybody know how they did this and what parts a person would need to implement it? I doubt that they used relays. It may have been an X10 application, like the remote control stuff for your house. Do they make 12v or 24v X10 stuff? Any other comments or suggestions? |

It is indeed x10. No relays unless you have specific needs. x10 works on 110v, modules control the lights, the control plugs into the wall. One control picks up manual commands from the remote and talks to the modules through the house wiring. Another controller is programmed by a cpu then disconnected. The controller is plugged into the wall and follows allthe commands that you have programmed into it. the cpu is only used to program it. There are other units on the market now that are mounted on the wall, probably what you saw in the Beaver conv. They are a wonderful control system. You do need to shut it down if you are booning and you don't have a lot of excess battery power for the inverter, but you would know this as you get into it. This system come highly recommended if you can use this type of automation. cd |

I've use the at x-10 products in mine house for over 10 years. What I did was put a relay can next to my panel box. from relay can i run the wire directly to the light it makes wire even the House easier.I have 16 circuits controlled by x-10 in my home. I planned on using on my bus. One of the better outlets it is 1-800-smarthome |
