Is this vehicle suitable for a toad?
I have a '91 GMC Sonoma S10 pickup with AUTOMATIC transmission. Can we just hook it up & go??
Or is there a issue with transmission lubrication, etc?? Thanks, Joe

You cannot pull a 2 wheel drive S10 without a lub pump unless you disconnect the drive shaft or leave the engine running. I don.t much like the idea of letting the engine idle.

I bought a 88 S10 Blazer 4WD for little of nothin that will do just fine as my toad. Manual 4WD in neutral at the transfer case and I'm home free. Lots of room inside and goes anywhere. Sides, unlike your new Honders and Saturns and Grand Cherokees, ain't nobody care to look twice at stealing a P.O.S. or anything in it when your in town for groceries or gettin some grub. On top of that, who cares if it gets a crapped on a little bit from the Eagle goin down the road.

If you check the Remco website they list your '91 S10 as needing a transmission lube pump or driveline disconnect. I have a '96 Sonoma for a toad and even though it has a stick shift I still had to put in a driveline disconnect.

We were told that you can tow the stick shift S-10, but only if you have the 5th gear removed or put the earlier 4 speed trans in.

It's the 5th gear overdrive that will die if you flat tow it due to lack of lubrication.

Peter.
