I once had a great audio file of a Detroit 671 starting up. Can't find it now. I am going to use it as the ringer for my cell phone.
Yes I know, I am really a sick person.

That file was on the email only a few days ago.

I have one on file which is just a DD starting and idling, not the one which revs up as well.

If that will help, email me direct (click on my name above) and tell me how you get it on the phone and we can do a trade..... Heh, Heh.

Peter.

How about a DD reving up as a bus door bell chime. That would be cool too.

If you can't find the sound file, I have one of my 8V71 starting and idling somewhere.

I found my old file. It was the same one as Bob Wood. I have converted it to an MP3 file. I think I can download this and set it as a ringer??? If I can't be driving it I can still here it. I will let you know if it works.

Robert,

Great files, the Lucas one sounds just like my workshop heater even down to the pietzo ignition clicking away......... LOL.

And think, that Rover engine was developing back in the very early 1940s. It formed the basis of the World's very first production jet engine, the Rolls Royce Welland. Not a bad show for a 'conservative' motor car manufacturer!

The turbine car (JET1) was running by 1950.

For more interesting info go to this site:

to hear a diesel truck engine and park brakes, find a recording of joe stampleys.. "roll on big mama"... it was a popular country tune in the mid-70's
