Hi to all. I am getting ready to remove plywood floor. I have bus floor level, but roof slopes front to rear. After many measurements, I am baffled. Was the bus built with a level floor and sloping roof, or vice versa? I wish to have it as level and plumb as possible before tearing it apart. Thanks. Dale Leyten |

Dale, I have an MC-9 and it's the floor that slopes. |

Yep, floor slopes. MCI bought 1 war surplus level after WWII and that explains it. Also, their engineers never could figure out how to build a kneeling system to drain the water out the front door after they hosed them out. The 6 worked fairly well though; the water sort of cascaded fwd. from floor level to floor level. |

Uhhhh, well okay... The water drainage theory could be funny I suppose. The actual reason the floors slope in many MCI products is the desire to give the maximum amount of headroom throughout the coach while raising the rear of the coach high enough to allow clearance for drivetrain components without having to have a step or hump inside the cabin. Brian: No malicious intent, just one of the few running digs between me and my friends who all drive MCI's and Prevo's, the imported ones, while I drive USA made Grumman and Neoplan (only the names are imported). |
