Buy it if you can afford it. They are really nice coaches, easier to convert than many. Lots of room, drive very nice. They were too expensive when new for many to convert. Almost all the big boys went with the shorter, cheaper Prevost La Mirage instead. The La Mirage is less affected by wind since it's a little lower than the H's. That also has benefits when driving on back roads. Also many customers liked the shiny stuff on the sides of the La Mirage. H is all fiberglass. H model - the windows are very easy to skin, or to add double pane Peninsula windows. Only 6' 5" of headroom, reduced by your flooring, sound deadening and ceiling treatment. Lots of good electrics already in it. Will hold its value better due to the name, but its still at a premium even now. Prevost parts are good and easy to get, but pricy since Volvo bought them out. Service is excellent. I saw a good H340, with a fresh 8v92 for $45k last year - from the Prevost dealer. You should be able to get a straight seated coach with nothing done to it for $50 to $65 with a little bargaining. |
