Why use a airless get one of the new type with the can on the top. very little over spray, You can buy one of these for a little over 100.00. They work great. It has been some time since I bought mine it is a low air high paint gun. Does not use near as much paint, the paint does not go in the air but on what you are painting. A lot better then the old guns, I think some places the old style is out lawed. |

I got the Non-HVLP Porter-Cable from Lowes, it's been VERY good. I'm not the painter, but My buddy Randy explained why he doesn't use HVLP and I can't remember. We are doing a near "Pebble Beach" paintjob on my MG and this low cost unit (Like $75.00) is awesome. Gary |

I sure wouldn't paint it with an airless Jim....not unless you want it to look worse...either a HVLP or a good ol' Binks 12... |

We use a roller on all our boats, looks like refrigerator enamel when we're done. Paint would be kinda thick on a bus tho-- Gary |

Hi, Jim Automotive paint cannot be successfully sprayed with an airless sprayer. The paint needs to atomize or mix with the air. I think the HVLP systems are the most reasonably priced and have the most advantages. FWIW mark 75 gillig636 |

Airless will make it look like S#%T Bro. Get the new "Cup on top" gun. Gary |

Why use an airless when you have a source of compressed air on the coach? For a quicky paint job it's hard to beat Rustoleum in the one gallon cans. Less than $30 a gallon at Home Depot and they can even tint it to whatever color you want if the stock colors don't turn your crank. |

Phil has a point, although my experience with Rustoleum is that the finish does not last if exposed to the elements. A super trick w/Rustoleum that gives a brilliant finish: Use lacquer thinner, about 25%, instead of mineral spirits as a thinner. Supr shine and finish, but be prepared to do it again within a couple of yrs. if outside. Most bang for the buck is Acrylic Enamel(5-8 yrs.) applied with a gravity feed HVLP (the Chinese HF works ok; abt. $50) or even a Wagner siphon HVLP (abt. $150 w/its' own vacuum cleaner air compressor); will even shoot 2 part epoxy paints. |

As I mantioned abouve, we went with a Non-HVLP unit, and really I can't remember the reason. I must say, my MGB looks like it'sbeen powdercoated British Racing Green. I would pass on the Rustoleum for the exterior. I use it everywhere inside the bus to coat the steelwork, but We're using the PPG 2-part epoxy on the extersor and the stuff is amazing. Works out to $0.40/oz. Gary |

"I think the HVLP systems are the most reasonably priced and have the most advantages." Mainly, in many places, that's the only thing that's legal. Also, less overspray & MUCH less wasted paint. |
