Hi All,

Is there a website or salvage yard that carries bay door hinges, windshields and other miscellaneous parts for 4106 coaches? I have a bay door that needs to be fixed plus some hooligans threw rocks at my coach and cracked my passenger side windshield.

Thanks,
Kat

Kat -

Sorry to hear of your windshield's misfortune - I woke up Friday morning to the tailgate being stolen off my Tacoma!

Anyway, edannbus@aol.com will get you the really nice stainless steel baggage bay door hinges that you'll never have to replace again. Worth the $$.

Your windshield is shared with all the GMC highway models from 1953 > 1980, so they're not hard to obtain.

Obviously, Luke can get them for you (888-262-2434) or you can try Curved Glass Distributing. Luke can also supply the OEM rubber door hinge material if you want, too.

Where are you located, or at least, where are you based out of if you full-time? Having the city/state you base from can really help us help you better. Spend a couple minutes adding that info to your profile for future help.

FWIW & HTH. . .

:-)

PS: What's the VIN on your coach? PD4106-XXXX?

Hi RJ,

I am currently in south-central NM and am a full-timer. My domicile is Quartzite, AZ. My coach was a long-distance transit bus for Eastern Greyhound based out of Cleveland, OH from 1964-1974. Somehow the running dog emblem managed to stay with her.

After she was "retired" she stayed in Southern Cali where she passed through two other owners and then me. I love my Ruby Rambler!

Thanks for all of the info Larry, Lynn, RJ. Sorry about your tailgate, RJ.

Use the search feature on this board , learn the proper install method for GM rubber hinges.

They will last a decade or two if installed properly.

FF,

I will do that. The hinge is the original so it has lasted for many decades.

Thanks,
Kat

Do a bit of searching as there is a rubber hinge available that has cords in it for reinforcment. Some of the rubber available isn't as good as the orginal. RJ's recomendation of the SS hinges is the best way as you will never have to replace them again.
