This is not bus related but someone might know the answer. Where should I look if I am getting fuel down in the oil pan? It is a 3 cyl John Deere backhoe.
Thanks, Bruce

If the injectors are externally mounted I would suspect that the front seal on the injector pump is bad.

If I'm not mistaken, it's usually the front seal in the injector pump, just behind the drive gear.

there is a small mechanical transferr pump mounted on the side of the engine.... in addition to the injection pump.....sometimes it leaks also.....this pump is what delivers fuel to the injection pump....

Doesn't the lift pump have a weep hole in it? Unless it is packed with dirt it should let the fuel drip to the ground if the diaphram leaks.

it should.. and the injection pump, if its a roosamaster or stanadyne(sp0, will have double seals... 1 to keep oil in from the engine and 1 to keep fuel in from the pump... this might be a double lipped seal or 2 seals back to back... i"m guessing... havent seen this particular engine...
