Our Aqua Hot had a fuel pump leak and got some diesel on the carpet in the bay of our coach. We had a professional carpet cleaner extract as much diesel as possible and he used a commercial deodizer but still have some residual diesel odor. Any hints: We have sprayed the area with Odorgon which is designed for this with limited results. |

Febrezee (sp) I went fishing in Fla early am. Came back got kids went to water park. Forgot bait, fish were in the van. 98degree day hot fla sun shutup van all day long. Wife was about to kill me kids getting sick You get the picture. Stopped got some of the heavy duty stuff sprayed it got back to motel without getting sick. When I got to the motel used two bottles of it result NO SMELL> two days later after it had been shut up for the two days applied one more spraying. Never have smelled the fish ever again. Kids nose is much stronger then mine they claim no smell whatsoever. May work for your spill also.. Cant smell as bad as that bait and fish did. |

njt5150: thanks for the tip but I think Fabreeze is only for organic (fish bait) smeels. I did spray some without much suscess. By the way there are already over 50 Buses at the Arcadia Rally and it does not start till tomorrow. Weather should be super. |

Get some purple stuff from walmart,, soak it good ,, use a wet vac to extract it,, then take an orange,, peel it take the peels and grind them with a cheez grater,, sprinkle it over the area rub it in and let it set until they dry out,,and that should get rid of the odor.. |

Sorry but fuel oil needs to be washed out! Extremley hard to get out of wood or plywood. Dry clean, soak with purple stuff, wish[hot water 50/50] Dawn hand dish soap, would be cheaper to toss carpet and luan if you want no smell. My fuel soaked cloths need lots of Wisk an orange stuff. |

Richard-- I worked with a guy cleaning furnaces(oil fired) and before we left a customer's house we would sprinkle this powder on any spilled fuel that was designed to get rid of fuel smell. It smelled like bubble gum and worked excellent. Cannot remember the name though. You should be able to get it at any plumbers supply or heating supply. Just ask the counter guy, he should know what you need. Hope it works for you! Steve |

Be careful of the Castrol "purple stuff" on aluminum. I spilled some on a bay door on my 4905, and it "frosted" the metal...and won't clean off. ...JJ |

Richard Go to Coit.com and click on the spot cleaning guide (Spot Help). Will have step by step instructions for removal of oil, grease, or tar-based spills using home brewed recipes. Stuff you have in the kitchen, already. The tips work. I know. I work for Coit. |
